Spirit in the Sky can supply aircraft for air displays. Aerial display represents an important element of classic / vintage aircraft ownership for many custodians of rare or historically significant aircraft. For aircraft owners it is the sole reason that they put so much resource into meticulous restoration of their aeroplanes.
Our air display clients span private and public display work. We are able to perform a display for a birthday, wedding, funeral or any other occasion. Our displays, for safety reasons need to be undertaken in strict accordance to CAA safety guidelines and thus displays over built up areas, towns and cities are not permitted. For public displays we can source aircraft from WW1, WW2, and into the 70’s and 80’s if required. We can provide wing walking aircraft, warbirds, vintage passenger aircraft and pure aerobatic aircraft if required. Our display aircraft can also be hired for static display provided we are able to get the aircraft to the event logistically. Our preference is obviously to fly into an event though some aircraft can be transported by road if flying into the venue is not workable.
Recent undertakings have included a Spitfire flypast at a wedding, a formation flypast at a funeral, and a multi aircraft display at a large motor racing event. All flying is undertaken by pilots with the relevant display authorisation as approved by the Civil Aviation Authority. Where necessary we will provide a display director for multi item programmes.
Our most popular requests are always for the Spitfire air display at weddings, birthdays, funerals, private parties and music festivals. Other aircraft available to display are the P51 Mustang, P40 Kittyhawk, Hawker Hurricane, Boeing Stearman, Extra 300, Pitts Special and the Stampe.
