This is one of the last Max Holste MH1521 Broussard’s to have been built in 1959. Originally built for 4 passengers this example has a 6 place quick change configuration with double cargo doors allowing versatile use of the cabin. The paint scheme on this aeroplane has been kept in original condition as the current vendor views the patina as key to the look and feel of this classic military workhorse.
Powered by the 450hp P&W R985 radial engine, the Broussard has a range of 745 miles, will operate from a 170m strip and will cruise at 120mph. With an empty weight of 3373lbs and a max take off weight of 5953lbs, the Broussard has a good useful load given the size of the aircraft. The engine has only 460hrs SMOH by Covington. The current owner has maintained this aeroplane a no expense spared basis. Is has had new flooring installed along with hard wearing utility carpet which serves to protect the floor and also quieten the cabin.
